And the nominees are...
It's the Monday after the Oscar telecast, and

Saving Private Ryan receives a glorious 11 nominations at the Oscars this year. However, it did not receive the most. Shakespeare in Love one-ups that Spielberg war film with 13 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. It's an amazing feat, since hardly anyone would have expected the comedy to get so many. Those 13 nominations are just one less than last year's record-setting 14 nominations picked up by Titanic. My personal enjoyment of that film is well below that of others, but to each their own.
